Pervasive SQLV8 Work Group Install Instructions
1) Install Pervasive SQL V8 Normally per Pervasive’s Documentation, at all of the Work Group Computes.
2) At the Main Computer (Peer Server) you should click Start Programs, Pervasive SQL V8, other Utilities and Gateway Locator. In there you need to pick the AMS Data Directory (s) and click Change. This will let all the other computers Pervasive Engines know which server engine to use when accessing the AMS Data files.
3) At each computer, go to the Pervasive Control center on the client by clicking Programs, Pervasive SQL V8, and Control Center.
Click + in front of Pervasive.SQL Engines
Click + in front of Computer Name
Click + in front of Configuration
Click the + in front of Client
Click the Performance Tuning folder and on the right double click the Use Cache Engine setting and change it from ON to Off. Say Ok and at the top you will have to click apply button (!) and then restart the computer.
4) Then at each workstation you need to copy WBTRCALL.DLL, WBTRV32.DLL, and wdbuui32.dll from the C:\PVSW\Bin folder (the default workstation install folder) to \winnt\system32 for NT/2000/XP and \Windows\System for Win9x and ME and then restart that computer.
\winnt or \windows is likely, windows XP is usually \windows\system32.
TIP: For additional Speed and Reliability it is a good idea to rebuild the AMS Data files X*.BTR to the Version 8 format.
