Pervasive SQL File Rebuild Instructions

 

WARNING: You should have taken an AMS backup before starting this Operation. This document also assumes that the user has a clear understanding of the Windows operating system. This is an advanced procedure and should not be attempted by anyone who is not proficient in Windows.

1) Using Windows Explorer, create a temporary folder to store the rebuilt files.

2) Start the Pervasive SQL Rebuild Utility.

Version 8.7: Click Start / Programs / Pervasive SQL V8 / Other Utilities / Rebuild

Version 9.x: Click Start / Programs / Pervasive / Pervasive SQL V9 / Other Utilities / Rebuild

3)  Click Next.

4) Click Add and Browse to the AMS Data Directory (C:\WINDIR by default, C:\WINDIR\FILES(1,2,3, etc) for files directories.)

5) At the bottom in the File name box type X*.BTR.

6) Select all files in the File window

Tip:  Click on one of the files and hold down the CTRL Key and Hit the Letter A, this will select all the files automatically.

7) Click Open, then Click Ok.

8) Click Next.

9) Leave the default settings for System Data, Key Number, and Page Size. The File Format should be set to the highest available.

10) Set the output path to the temporary file directory you created in step 1.

11) Click Next.

12) After the process completes, you will be notified as to whether it was successful or not. If process was successful, use Windows Explorer to copy the rebuilt files to your Windows system directory. Answering Yes or Yes to All to to confirming file replace.
